With an outing in your local drugstore, you will be greeted by row after row of shelves brimming with various products, all promising to work wonders and create miracles. I do believe the one strategy for finding out which products are best for your needs is to experiment and check on your own. One of my favourites that I’ve been using for some time now’s argan oil.
Sometimes termed as ‘liquid gold’, it is a natural product, purchased from the kernels from the argan tree which can be native to Morocco. It’s used as a moisturiser as well as in products to tend to hair. The reason is , the truth that the oil includes a high nutrient content and is also rich in fatty acids, anti-oxidants and e vitamin that’s vital for healthy hair and skin. It is also renowned to create hair soft, silky and glossy and also to make curly hair more manageable. Other reported important things about argan oil for hair range from the promotion of healthy hair growth, prevention of scalp dryness and itching along with the restoration of dry and damaged hair. Being a non-greasy, easily absorbed oil it’s utilized as a skin moisturiser which may benefit dry skin in particular. Additionally it is recognized for it’s anti-ageing properties and lots of advocates of argan oil have stated the actual way it helps their skin problems like acne and eczema. I have used argan aceite to help treat dried-out skin on my own joints also it did wonders for me and left my skin beautifully soft and smooth without any irritation.
As a result of it’s benefits, celebrities including Jennifer aniston, Charlize Theron, Kylie Minogue, Madonna and Taylor Swift are users of argan oil to assist take care of their head of hair and skin. It’s even beginning to show up in mascara formulas as it’s claimed it can help to generate your lashes longer and more lustrous. My tresses are very dry and has a wiry texture (it almost is like fine fishing line) and also the oil in it’s pure form really helps to add moisture and softness to my hair. Even if you’re lucky enough to get have naturally soft hair, argan oil is a nice final touch to include extra gloss and shine.
Although finding shampoos, conditioners, hairstyling products and skincare products containing argan oil is not hard, due to the oil’s rarity they are offered in a relatively high price. As I mentioned before, the oil is purchased from the argan tree that is present in southern Morocco. The standard approach to extracting the oil was to collect argan fruit, dry it, extract the nuts, crack the crooks to reveal the kernels and then to crush them to release their oil. The process was over yourself and took fifteen hours of labour and thirty two kilograms of fruit to generate one litre of oil! Currently the kernels are mechanically cold pressed (heat damages the oil’s chemical properties). The tree is rare, extracting the oil is labour intensive… hence the high price. However, the good thing is a bit oil goes a considerable ways.
The scarcity of the argan tree is when the challenge lies. There are many products available on the market now which contain argan oil or are marketed as ‘argan oil’ or ‘Moroccan oil’. However if you examine the label, you will find often other ingredients (such as silicon) in larger quantities compared to the actual argan oil. Cosmetic companies must work hard to ensure the availability of argan oil is sustainable and of a top quality, untainted by other oils or substances.
How do you know you are receiving bona fide? If you are buying a product containing argan oil – confirm the ingredients. Look out for ‘argania spinosa kernel oil’, it must be up high the ingredients list and ideally, the merchandise should contain as few ingredients as you can. The more ingredients that the oil is mixed with, the less capable the oil is going to be. If you are buying pure argan oil, makes it in the dark coloured bottle because light passing by having a clear bottle can break up the oil’s chemical properties. Some goods that are marketed as argan oil also include a carrier oil like olive or sunflower oil. Also be conscious of the price you’re paying. Argan oil does not have to break the bank but concurrently, this is a rare oil that’s labour intensive to generate therefore isn’t usually sold with a ‘giveaway’ price. The top argan oil product simply the priciest fresh fruits the word, ‘you get whatever you pay for’.
