When Jesus came and brought the gospel of Christianity it was welcomed from the masses as exceptionally great news. Thousands followed him to listen for the words of life that he spoke. After he was crucified, his disciples continued preaching and teaching his ways and so they were likewise welcomed as the bringers of good news.
Absolutely not everyone was thrilled as of this new teaching. The established religion of the day opposed it violently, even putting many to death for preaching the language of God. They whipped, beat, imprisoned and crucified lots who thought we would follow or teach the newest gospel. Yet regardless of the suffering inflicted, they couldn’t destroy this teaching or halt multiplication on this great news.
One of many charges laid against the early teachers of this gospel was they had, “Turned the world upside down” using this type of teaching (Acts 17:6). Truly, the modern teachings of the gospel of Christ were great news and tremendously powerful.
Lots of people need a lot of things, and not many would choose to suffer abuse, torture, ridicule as well as die as opposed to renounce their beliefs. But such was the enormity and energy this good news.
Consider even the state of the apostles shortly after Jesus was offer death. We were holding subdued and meeting in Jerusalem, wondering how to handle it next after their Lord and teacher ended up taken from them. But while they were gathered together at the time of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit with the energy God come upon them, transforming them into powerful and charismatic preachers in the great news. Peter stood up within the people and also at his preaching that day, three thousand people looked to the Lord upon hearing the great news with the gospel (Acts 2:14-42).
Such is the strength of the preaching of Christ who’s is not merely called nice thing about it yet it’s “Great News”. Never before or since has there been a real message as powerful as the gospel and truth of Christianity.
Why is this message so powerful? In this world man is plagued wonderful method of evil, both from inside and without. Man suffers as a result of his fellow man sometimes more so at his or her own hands by succumbing towards the desires of his flesh. Man suffers disease, sickness and death, often brought about by his own passions and needs. Man sins continually through lies, cheating, envy, jealousy and commits acts of murder, adultery, substance abuse, theft, insurrection and all means of wrongdoing. As a consequence of these and lots of other things, man is actually in a condition of stress.
Just watch the night news or pick up a newspaper and you will probably see the sin and evil rampant in this world which has man in its grip. It’s tremendously stressful to determine or read these items. Pressure and tension build until most of the people achieve the point where they wish it might all vanish entirely or they can escape the tension.
To be removed out of this stress would truly be not just very good news, but Nice thing about it. That is certainly just what Jesus and his disciples offered within their teachings, and why people flocked to hear these words of the nice thing about it from the gospel of Christ.
The facts with the Gospel is all about freedom, which is currently available just as it turned out in those times. The great news from the gospel offers freedom from bondage, freedom from sin, freedom from stress and freedom from all the pressures of this world. Of course, if you have freedom from these you have the something until this world cannot get for you… peace.
For individuals who get the truth in the gospel it has an inner peace, that will come from knowing Jesus and applying his teachings that you experienced. When you’re at peace within, this no longer matters just what the world throws to you since it can’t affect you if you don’t give it time to. Peace within these days of great disaster and troubles is great news as well as a real blessing to all or any who find and receive it.
However, there is much more now being offered inside the gospel of Christ. He offers expect a better life, both now in this world, and into eternity in a place where there won’t be any sickness, disease, death or any form of evil.
Along with the best news of most are these claims is freely wanted to anyone everyone who chooses to seek it through Jesus. In truth the Gospel of Christ isn’t just good news it’s GREAT| news.
