How weddings have changed on the decades! From the handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding party members; a fairly easy wedding car to expensive and enormous wedding cars; three course meals to six course meals; 1 to 3 live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
Speaking of rogues, wedding speeches remain a fundamental part of a wedding and guests do look forward to hearing them, referring to them before, during as well as after they’ve been delivered.
We know of groom speech delivered prior to meal, through the meal and after your food, however it’s of a strong opinion that the wedding speeches should be delivered after the meal. I realize that for several wedding party speakers i.e. Father of the Bride Speech, Father of the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (5 main speakers), they will want to hold the wedding speeches prior to the meal, so they can enjoy their meal (many of them are spending money for it!). However, it is all about the invited guests and how many (and indeed the marriage venue staff) would choose the marriage speeches to become delivered following the meal for many reasons, many of which include:
The invited guests happen to be fed and watered and are not playing wedding speeches on an empty stomach (at least of food, which will be the case before the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival at the wedding venue)
Food may be cooked and served with the agreed time (introduce the wedding speeches prior to meal as well as their can be quite a delay of Fifteen minutes to 1.5 hours, driving your home staff crazy trying to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The wedding ceremony speeches become the transition from your meal towards the dancing (without a penny happening following your meal, folks are expecting ‘a few words’ to get shared about the Bride & Groom then they do know they could get up, move about, take a rest, take a stroll, visit the bar…)
It can be hard for moms and dads with the Bride & Groom to communicate in in public, as most of them couldn’t survive used than it. So, they might, if they so wished, speak prior to / their meal.
There should be some form of formal wedding speech(es) following the meal…
