How weddings have changed on the decades! From a handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight bridal party members; a simple wedding car to expensive and enormous wedding cars; three course meals to 6 course meals; one-three live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
These are aforementioned, wedding speeches remain a fundamental part of a marriage and guests do enjoy hearing them, speaking about them before, during as well as after they’ve been delivered.
We are all aware of wedding speeches delivered prior to the meal, in the meal after your food, yet it’s of a strong opinion the wedding speeches must be delivered following your meal. I realize that for many marriage ceremony speakers i.e. Father from the Bride Speech, Father from the father of the bride speech (the five main speakers), they might want to contain the wedding speeches ahead of the meal, so they can enjoy their meal (many of them are spending money for it!). However, it’s all about the invited guests and the way a lot of them (as well as wedding ceremony venue staff) would rather the wedding speeches to be delivered following the meal for many reasons, some of which include:
The invited guests have already been fed and watered and are not paying attention to wedding speeches on an empty stomach (at least of food, which will be the case prior to meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival on the wedding venue)
Food can be cooked and served with the agreed time (introduce wedding ceremony speeches ahead of the meal in addition to their is actually a delay of Quarter-hour one.5 hours, driving your home staff crazy trying to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The wedding ceremony speeches act as the transition from your meal for the dancing (without a penny happening following the meal, everyone is expecting ‘a few words’ to become shared concerning the Bride & Groom then they understand they could wake up, move around, come out, take a stroll, navigate to the bar…)
It can be hard for fogeys from the Bride & Groom to communicate in in public, as the majority of them wouldn’t be used than it. So, they could, whenever they so wished, speak before the / their meal.
There should nevertheless be some form of formal wedding speech(es) as soon as the meal…
