AUCTION AND ART FAIR Prepared SIMULTANEOUSLY IN TOWN

The Poly Macau Art Auction has held again until today at the Regency Art Hotel. The kinds include Chinese and Asian Contemporary and modern Art, Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Chinese Ceramics and Artwork as well as Jewels and Prestige Collections.


Masterpieces of Chinese modern art maestros will be displayed to represent the main developments of Chinese contemporary art history, including Wu Guangzhong’s “Snowscape in Beijing”, which can be estimated for sale at HKD14 million up to HKD28 million.

Other pursuits such as Chinese ceramics and artworks, including those from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, bronzes, lacquers, Buddhism figures, and fine stationery will be up for auction.

A Cloisonne-Enamel Ram Vessel, Zun, estimated being worth between HKD3.2 million to HKD4.5 million can also be available to buy by interested collectors.
This is the second Poly Macau Art Auction, following the first auction organized a few months ago.

Sabrina Ho, director of Poly Macau and Stanley ho daughter and Angela Leong, declared case is co-organized by Poly Macau and Chiu Yeng Culture. “I hope that the number of cultural events [organized through the two companies] may bring to Macau new aspects that will allow to continue the diversification with the economy,” said Ho, who also expects that artists and art collectors worldwide is constantly support Macau as an art platform.

“We is constantly bring Macau more diversified cultural activities, and [will support] Macau to develop itself being a global art platform,” said Ho and “hopefully that Macau can be a well- known art capital later on.”

Regency Hotel opened in 1983 and has suffered with past business closures. Ho, however, hopes to change it into a form of art hotel. “In Macau, there may be many resplendent big hotels, however the number of hotels that happen to be employed for art or perhaps some creational events is, in reality, much less great,” said Ho.

At the moment, Regency Hotel isn’t running any casinos, which, based on Ho, creates a different atmosphere in comparison to other hotels. She also thinks that guests staying in this hotel tend to be more “private.”

The “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” will be held at the Regency Hotel until November 27. You use 60 exhibition halls will be arranged to show off artworks from 60 artists born after 1975.

Ho claims that just a number of hotels are willing to provide young adults rooms also to invite young adults to design the rooms on their behalf.
