Remember when finding comfort school meant purchasing a few notebooks, a fresh box of crayons, and new shoes? Should you wore a uniform university, you most likely got some of those too; or else, you’ve got one or two new outfits. That has been it.
Well, times have changed. The supply list now contains items which used to be provided by the schools – like scissors, glue and tissues. Every child uses a new backpack, notebooks, paper, pens (red, blue and black), glue sticks, ruler, tape, scissors, markers, folders and a calculator. When you have two children and you also shop the sales, you may still find yourself paying out over $100.00 in supplies alone. Which doesn’t even count the new clothes your child “has to have” or the fees which are necessary for art projects, lab costs, etc.
Don’t even get me started on the supplies, including furniture and appliances, your son or daughter needs for faculty. Will it ever end?
Here are some ideas for saving cash painting canvas this year.
1) Recycle – Confirm that which you already have in your own home. You most likely have assorted crayons, markers, colored pencils, etc. already there your home. Put these together in the pencil box which will save you some dollars.
2) Re-use – Kids believe last year’s backpack must go, however a quick trip from the automatic washer can provide it new life.
3) Reduce – Does your son or daughter possess a notebook from last year which has three pages of written material within it and 77 blank pages left? Did you find this notebook inside the trash can – or worse – the garbage? Now’s a good time to go over waste and keeping it down by getting probably the most use possible out of every item.
